Description:
Paralegal/Administrative Assistant in Legal Department. Responsibilities include review and assessment of all new suits/claims filed and assignment and coordination of case handling both in-house and with outside counsel in various states, provinces and countries throughout the world; coordination of discovery responses to include gathering, analyzing, organizing and preparing legal documents, reports and other information sent to local counsel; research and analyzation of law sources, such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles; preparation and review of legal agreements with outside vendors and other corporations. Maintain minutes for all board meetings, including contact with all board members on various corporate issues. Liaison with insurance broker and excess carrier regarding claims in excess of SIR. Scheduling of inspections, depositions, testimony, trial dates, etc., and coordination of travel for individuals within legal department for same. Coordinator and company contact for legal database system. Oversee and assign work to various legal clerks within the department. Position also requires knowledge of the techniques of receiving callers, giving information, and explaining instructions and guidelines. Must have the ability to maintain calm professionalism at all times. Must have the ability to compose and type routine correspondence, as well as possess a good knowledge of personal computers, hardware, software, and related applications.

Requirements:
High school diploma, associate?s degree, and/or paralegal certification preferred and five years experience working in a legal environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. AAP/EOE
